Dumaguete City was included in ‘The World’s 9 Most Affordable Places to Retire’ last April 16.

Dumaguete ranked fourth out of the nine cities in countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, France and Europe.

The author of the article, Kathleen Peddicord, which appeared in Yahoo! Finance, described Dumaguete as a city that “boasts a warm tropical climate and lots of opportunity for outdoor adventures, including world-class diving and snorkelling and whale and dolphin watching.”

For the non-adventurous type, Peddicord also noted that people “have the opportunity to make friends with educated professors and aspiring students, take classes and enjoy cultural opportunities not typically found elsewhere in the Philippines, including theatre ballet, art shows and libraries.

Dumaguete City is truly an adventure hub and an intellectual landmine, which are both essential for the complete human experience.

Not only is the city dubbed a university town, but also more commonly called the City of Gentle People.

With all the city could offer, Philsouth Properties and Development Corporation (PPDC) didn’t make a mistake in making Dumaguete its home base as it provides aspiring home owners with various choices that cater to their needs and financial capabilities.

For those looking for a simple home but without compromising quality, Northville is the place. Those who love modern architecture will also love Azumi Resort Residences with its zen-inspired design. Tierra Alta Residential Resort and Apo Vista Beach Park would also be perfect for those who don’t mind investing to make every day feel like vacation. In keeping with the milieu of Dumaguete City where the allure of adventure is ever present, Philsouth Properties and Development Corporation also prides itself in one of its latest tourism resort project that opened only this April—Tejero Highland Resort and Adventure Park.

The place which was previously known to the locals as ‘Tejeros’ had no more than just a pool with low maintenance and a few cottages.

This changed when Philsouth along with the local government of Valencia, a town approximately 8.5 kilometers from Dumaguete, formed a partnership to turn Tejeros into Tejero Highland Resort and Adventure Park—an adventure paradise where friends and families can enjoy.

Now Tejero boasts of a well-maintained splash and slide pool, a river fed pool and cottages for rent.

That’s not even the best part. Tejero also offers Zegwee rides, an F1 Speed Zipline, ATV rides and Aquazorb at various rates.

A Bunjee Trampoline, a Pagoda Tent Pavilion and an exciting Team Building Facilities are also set to be installed this July. (Visit www.tejeroislandresort.com for more details.)
